When to use a stiffening member

We use stiffening members to simulate a joint element with cross-sections. The basic difference between a standard member and stiffening member is, that we can not input any internal forces on the stiffening member. This means, that stiffening member is not a part of your original FEA 1D member analysis model. Basically, we use standard members only if we need to apply load/constrain on them.
